In a bid to deepen civic awareness and promote youth engagement in national affairs, a group of enthusiastic students from Acherensua SHS visited the Parliament of Ghana on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The educational tour was organized to expose students to the inner workings of Ghana’s legislative arm and to inspire them to become active and informed citizens.
The visit gave the students the rare opportunity to witness parliamentary proceedings live, interact with some Members of Parliament, and learn about the structure, roles, and responsibilities of Ghana’s legislative body. They were taken on a guided tour of the parliamentary chambers, committee rooms, and historic areas within the Parliament House.
During the visit, students expressed excitement and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and engaging in discussions about national policies, law-making, and the role of youth in governance. Several MPs commended the students for their interest and encouraged them to take their studies seriously, as the future of Ghana rests in their hands.
The leadership of the school thanked the Parliament of Ghana for warmly welcoming the students and making the visit a highly enriching experience. They also acknowledged the support of community leaders and parents who made the trip possible.
This educational journey marks a significant step in empowering Acherensua’s young generation with the knowledge and inspiration needed to contribute meaningfully to national development.
